On December 1, 2025, Professor Brad Ramshaw from Cornell University delivered a seminar titled “Phonons with a Twist: Measuring the Phonon Hall Viscosity in a Proposed Quantum Spin Liquid.”
In his talk, Prof. Ramshaw presented recent experimental advances in probing phonon Hall viscosity—a subtle manifestation of Berry curvature in the crystal lattice —and discussed its relevance in identifying quantum spin liquid behavior.
We greatly appreciated Prof. Ramshaw's visit and his stimulating seminar.
