On May 22, our new group member, Dr. Hiroshi Katsumoto, delivered the 5th Early-Career Seminar at the Department of Physics. Katsumoto-san joined our group in April as a project assistant professor.
In his talk entitled “Spin Models for Modeling Quantum Magnets, Katsumoto-san shared his research work at the Peter Grünberg Institute in Germany and demonstrated to us the key role of higher-order exchange interactions in shaping the properties of complex magnetic materials. The seminar is well attended and sparked active discussions among students and researchers.
The Early-Career Seminar Series aims to provide a relaxing and supportive setting for young researchers to share their research, foster scientific discussions, and strengthen international connections across institutions and disciplines. We thank Katsumoto-san for his wonderful contribution to this seminar series.
